To All Men Golfers
You are cordially invited to join the Deep Creek Men’s Golf Association (DCMGA) for a season of weekly golf games with new and old friends. All skill levels are wanted and encouraged to participate. Fun is the goal and friendship and camaraderie are the result.
The Men’s Association meets on Friday mornings at 7:30 AM and the season runs from November thru April. I can’t think of a better way to spend Friday mornings. If Mother Nature cooperates, we anticipate as many as 26 events. The schedule of events will soon be available by e-mail and posted on the Pro Shop bulletin boards. A weekly sign-up sheet will be posted. You need only sign your name by noon Wednesday and the event coordinator will assign teams and tee times for that weeks event.
We will collect a $5.00 entry fee before the match and will announce the winners the next day. Team assignments are made on the basis of skill level and specific event requirements so that all teams can be equally matched and be assured of a good time.
We will have two major two-day tournaments, the President’s Cup and the Club Championship. We will have a DCMGA meeting and luncheon the first week of the season and one other official luncheon meeting at the end of the season to discuss association business and election of officers for the next season. Late in the season we will have a DCMGA Banquet where good food, entertainment, and awards will be presented. The evening will cap off with dancing and more socializing.
You may now ask, “Where do I sign up?” Simply be a member of the Deep Creek Golf Club, fill out the attached application, include a check for the association dues of $50.00 made out to Deep Creek Men’s Golf Association and drop it off in the Pro Shop. The only other requirement is that before the start of the season you have an established USGA handicap of 36 or less. The Pro Shop or any DCMGA officer can explain how best to meet this requirement if you are new to the club. Hard copies of the application, association bylaws and association rules and regulations, etc. will also be available at the Pro Shop
